A bit about Taipei Taiwan

I had been to Taiwan especially Taipei for a few times but never get my journal organised. Reasons are: there are just too many interesting places for me to explore, too much delicious delicacies for me to try.
Let's start from where to eat!

San-hsi-t'ang Teahouse

National Palace museum is my must-visit every time I go to Taipei. Since there are too much for me to browse around, I usually spend nearly a whole day there. San His T'ang teahouse is my prefer outlet for my bite and rest. It is a busy outlet so reservation is highly recommended. Varieties of food is wide, from dim sum to soup to noodle to tea, etc. Can't really list out, pick your random choices pls. Oh, beef noodle is very good indeed.

Fu Hang Dou Jiang

http://4sq.com/9yxfev

This is perhaps the most famous breakfast shop which serves soy milk and Taiwanese style omelette. I had only been here once simply due to the long queue. Soy milk is really "authentic" that you can still taste the bean. If you don't mind to queue, go try it.

Hangzhou Xiaolong Tangbao

Clearly tell by the shop name that it is all about dumplings (siu lung bao). This is not the most famous one but I trust this is a very authentic one with less crowds. Dumpling is filled with hot soup, be cautious if you want to bite it.

Galette

http://4sq.com/15a8HJm

This is an interesting shop instead of providing any impressive taste. It is a puzzle shop, the right side of the shop displays and sells their puzzles and the left side is a cafe. There is a shelf in the middle of the room and there are quite some puzzles on shelf. You can feel free to pick one, play a bit with your coffee and snack for your long morning/afternoon.

http://4sq.com/9OELWh

This is a historical site with original buildings, museum and a small cafe. Many young people come here for chat, gathering, even work. I find it very comfortable and cultural. Highly recommended if you want to know a bit of Taiwan history.

Japanese food is famous and authentic in Taiwan, don't be surprise! Taiwan was "colonised" by Japan for a while back in the days. Many seniors still speak Japanese today. This shop is picked really randomly, either on my way to night market or after night market. Just a random shop, but serves really high quality sushi

This beef noodle shop is recommended by my brother who resides in Taipei and of course also a foodie. A very famous beef noodle shop is just round the corner but of course always come with a long queue. Instead of queueing, I think this is a good choice.

Coffee Alley

I went to this cafe unintentionally, even without knowing that it is a famous and trendy shop. Since it is very famous, not bad to give a try.

Dian Shui Lou

http://4sq.com/933DMQ

This is my whole family's favourite. Dumplings, stir fry, etc are all good. Can't list and can't recommend, just go for it.

A bit outbound of Taipei. I went to Juming museum which is literally a sculpture park, a strongly recommend site. After a whole morning/afternoon in the park, you could come to this "old street" for different things. This duck is recommended, and their locally grown sweet potato are also good.

This is another one outbound but I surely revisit. There is a famous geopark close by, so I went to the geopark in the morning and came here for late lunch. I tried to go again the other day for supper however they said they close at 1900. I would recommend you to have a feast here, go geopark before or after this delicious lunch. Seafood such as local crab, prawn, clam, etc, all are good.
